ACCORDING TO MATERIAL CONVEYED

Help and advice for input:

Cartons, containers, workpiece carriers and similar:
Plastic castors are generally smoother-running and gentler on materials than steel castors. On the other hand, steel rollers usually have a higher load capacity. The following always applies: Conveyed material length (or support length) : 3 = max. pitch. At least 3 rollers must always carry the load. The load capacity of the single roller must not be exceeded. This applies especially in the feeding area, where the weight of the material to be conveyed is supplemented by a dynamic load caused by the feeding.
Steel rollers are preferable for sharp-edged goods.

Pallets, wire mesh boxes, etc. …
In the case of goods with steel runners (wire mesh boxes), the wall thickness of the idlers should be greater than is necessary for wooden pallets. The following also applies here: Conveyed goods length (or support length) : 3 = max. pitch. The load must always be carried by 3 rollers. The load capacity of the single roller must not be exceeded. This applies especially in the feeding area where the weight of the conveyed material is supplemented by a dynamic load caused by the feeding. When feeding with a forklift or overhead crane, the roller must have sufficient dimensional stability in addition to the necessary load-bearing capacity.
